Our downhill enduro theme last year was beyond expectations with over 80 entries for our first downhill event….On a Friday afternoon! This year we are super pumped and upping our game for Chapter-3. Our downhill will now include two stages spanned over two days.

Attention all Women Riders

This is Diana Elmquist, local mountain biker and president of Skylon, Inc. Mountain Biking is overrun by men! We are severely under represented and we need to make a change.  With that in mind this year we are working to offer all Women riders the opportunity to race Jake’s Witch downhill events for just the price of a Level-1 admission. We want you to take your savings and sign up for a Susan Haywood clinic to sharpen your skills and have some serious fun. Simply select Level-2 or Level-3 registration and select your race options as normal and you’r discount will be added automatically. I want to see you out on URSUS and BLACKSNAKE.  Men…Don’t even try to weasel your way in here. We will figure you out stay tuned.

Level 2 vs. Level 3 registration

And how it effects your race events

We wanted to give our attendees and racers some options. Please read carefully so you get into the correct registration level depending on your race entry choices.

Level 2 registration: You will race ONLY ONE course of your choice. You can choose either Ursus or Blacksnake. We will give awards out to all divisions listed below for the course you choose. You will NOT be entered into the overall mini series.

Level 3: You will race both Ursus AND Blacksnake and be automatically entered into the overall enduro mini series. We will give awards and special prizes out to all of the overall winners per the divisions listed below.

Stage 1: URSUS, Friday 9:27:2019. 2:00pm.

We will be starting at the top near Brown Run Road and dropping Longhouse trail cornering right onto the Elijah trail continuing for approximately 1 mile. You will then turn left and drop onto one of the most exciting and talked about trails in the east, URSUS. Newly opened summer of 2018. Ursus has proven to be a local go-to trail for technical downhill riders. There are jumps and rock drops however all of the course features can be ridden around just as easily as over. This race course will drop you from the uppermost elevations of the Trails at Jake’s Rocks to the shoreline elevation near the Dewdrop confluence and Dewdrop campground. There will be shuttle stops at the bottom to take you back to the top or your final destination.

Stage 2: Blacksnake, Saturday 9:28:2019. 10:00am.

Need I say more? Blacksnake was the Trails at Jake’s Rocks first downhill attraction. As per design this trail is steep, fast and features rock drops, tight turns and doubles if you choose. Again don’t be worried if you are a sport or intermediate rider. All features can be ridden around just as easily as over. We will be using the same course as last years event.
